Thirsty Thursday

We had roomie taco night last night which was such a hit that we hardly had anything left over!
The food was so yummy (my mouth is watering just thinking about it),
but the real highlight of the night was the beverages...
homemade margaronas!!!
If you've never heard of them, you've got to get on board.

on the rocks
This tasty drink combines the sweet and salty flavors of a margarita
with the crisp refreshing taste of a corona.
What's not to like?

You can make these at home following the simple recipe below,
or you can order them out at a restaurant.
I had my first margarona at On the Border,
and they also serve them at Chili’s.

I'd love to hear what you think of margaronas!
Recipe and restaurant (w/margaronas) suggestions welcome :-)

After searching the internet Pinterest, here's what we threw together:

Homemade Margaronas:

Ingredients
2 cans frozen limeade (thawed)
2 cans water (using limeade can)
2 cans diet 7-up
1/2 can tequila (using limeade can)
mini coronas
ice (optional)
lime (optional)
salt (optional)

Directions
Mix all ingredients except coronas in a pitcher, salt the rim of your glasses (optional), pour mixture in glasses leaving about 1/3 empty, place corona in glass upside-down. Drink and enjoy ;-)

Juicy Juice

I have been wanting to do a juice cleanse for some time now,
but consistently found reasons excuses not to do it.
I finally decided it was time to stop with the excuses and get my booty in gear!
This week the hubz and I did a three day juice cleanse with our roomies.
It was another bonding experience for us all ;)

Naturally we ladies were in charge of making this happen,
I mean, duh!
We could have gone out and purchased a three day juice cleanse
but thought it would be more fun to do all the juicing ourselves.
It was fun to be able to be creative and make the juices we wanted,
but DAMN was it time consuming!
In the end it saved us money and that made our time in the kitchen worth it :-D

We made a variety of juices every day to try and keep breakfast, lunch, and dinner different.
The guys were our best source of feedback,
their critiques pushed us to try new things
and the juices got tastier each day too!
My favorites were an apple & grape mixture, cantaloupe, and a berry, pineapple & lemon mixture.

I don't have recipes to share, maybe next time...if there is one ;)
Have you ever done a juice cleanse?
If so, did you make your own juices?

Either way, pat yourself on the back,
it's hard work but well worth it!

Lush

Lush is like a Bath & Body works, but better!
They have quite the variety of beauty treatments,
and they are all handmade with fresh ingredients.

I was introduced to Lush but a couple of friends when we were in San Francisco,
they went on and on about how great it was, and I didn't understand the hype until I tried it for myself.
I was instantly hooked!

If you've never tried the fabulous products at Lush, I recommend you give it a try.
Oh and you don't have to plan a trip to San Fran to do so (although that would be fun!),
Lush recently opened a store in San Diego!!!

I've been using some of the hand and skin products for a few years now,
my favorites are the Ocean Salt, Lemony Flutter, and Handy Gurugu.
This lovely trio has become part of my Sunday routine to get ready for the week ahead.
I got my lover to start pampering his hands with me once a week,
and now our new roomies are hooked too  :)

Get some!
